What are the fish called and where are they from?
They’re called Garra Rufa and they are a fresh water species native to the Middle East.
What does a fish pedicure feel like?
Like very fine vibrations all over your feet, like a micro-massage. Once you’re passed the 30 second mark, it’s very relaxing. Afterwards, as well as your feet feeling softer they will feel lighter and refreshed. The only way to truly know however is by trying for yourself.
What are the benefits?
Softer, smoother, healthier and refreshed feet and smile on your face!
Does it hurt?
Not at all, Garra Rufa have no teeth so the experience is completely pain free.
Does it tickle?
For some people the first 30 seconds it can be a little ticklish but you soon get used to it and once you are, you’ll be glad you stuck at it.
How long does it take to work?
At Zoola Fish we offer both a 15 and 30 minute fish pedicure. You’ll notice the above effects after 15 minutes but obviously the longer you stay the more skin they can remove and the more relaxed you’ll feel.
What about hygiene?
Everyone is made to clean their feet before putting them in our tanks. The water is continually cycled through a powerful filtration system and ultraviolet sterilizers.
Is the water cold?
No. To try and replicate their natural habitat as best as possible, the water has to be kept nice and warm, which suites our customers just fine.
Where can I find you?
If you want a fish pedicure in London then Camden Town is the place to go. We have three fish spas there, the directions to which can all be found on the ‘locations’ page of this website.
Can I book an appointment?
We offer a walk-in service only, no appointments can be given.
